Place: Marie Raey Teaching Centre, ANU
Participants: Matthew, Vivien, Ben, Aditi, Vienna, Rocky, & 100.
100 선생 called on the meeting 10 minutes early and was late for 15 mintues - my apology. We started with Matthew's performance/presentation 'Peace, Conservation & Capitalism in the Korean DMZ: Critiquing the Proposal for a DMZ Peace Park' for the Asian Undergraduate Research Symposium (AURS) to be held on 27 November. The pre-recorded presentation was very clear and flew nicely. We hope it could be well-received by the audience.

Then we moved on to the discussion on the discussion on the English subtitles in Korean dramas and movies. The general concensus was the quality of English translations is not really professional, and it is often worse for closed captions that are often translated from the dubbing. Using 오징어게임 as an example, we discussed about translation as the art of impossible (Darch Pacquet).

We moved on to Vienna's introduction to the Hanja Mindset project, and Vienna will show us the first section in our next meeting. Finally, Rocky explained the progress of our ㄱㅂㅂ website which looks fabulous. Once we build up enough contents we will advertise this website to public. Thank you Rocky!
* We will have our 회식 on 3 December. I'll update you once I have a better idea about it... <100>
